Vehicle Description
1968 Chevy II Nova SS Clone Resto Rod
For Sale By Owner
PRICE REDUCED: ~Offered For $29,000.00~
Call: 480.987.9381

We bought this Chevy Nova from a Woman in Pomona, CA back in 1993 for my daughter’s High School car. We are the second owners. I started restoring it for my daughter’s graduation, but time got away and I missed the mark. I couldn’t do it half way so off came the body....

I sandblasted the frame and rear end housing, had every thing I could see powder painted: frame, suspension parts, etc. I also tied the frame together with rear spring hangers to stiffen up the car. I’m a hobby machinist and love to fabricate so every bracket, linkage, hard line serpentine system is built in-house. The engine is my specialty. The block is a 1965 327; the crank is a nodular iron 307 stroked .040 over and ground to the smaller journal size of the standard size for the 327. TRW bored .030 over, flat top 2-valve reliefs. Rods are stock polished beams, shot pinned and resized. Cam is from Engle --- it’s a mellow street roller (.520 lift 227 deration @ .050). Crower roller rockers with stud girdles. Heads are aluminum AFR ( 2.020 intake 1.160 exhaust), mildly ported. Intake manifold is a Edelbrock Air Gap with 1 of my 700 CFM HP Holleys. The brakes are WellWood. The transmission is a Leo Glassberner 200M, with a 1979 Grand National valve body. Converter is 2200 with lock up built by Mike Munsinger. The rear end is a 3.73 posi 10-bolt.

Now to the car.

This car was stripped down to the bare metal ---- we did all the body work, pre-assembled it, then took it all apart again for paint. I have pin holes on all the hinges for assembly. Doing it this way, there is no over-spray on anything. The interior was done with a slight up-date from stock SS. I dynamated the whole inside. This car is very quiet inside when you are just cruising. With the rear gear and in overdrive @ 80 MPH, it’s only taching 2100. “GREAT GAS MILEAGE” on a road trip.

This little Nova turns a lot of heads going down the road and is a lot of fun to drive. I’m selling only because I also own a race car that takes up most of my time and money. I know I’m going to be sad when it’s gone, but I hope I can find a good home for it.

I created a video below to give you more information about how the Chevy II got her start....feel free to turn it on, and if you have any questions, give me a call at the number below. PRICE REDUCED: Offered for $29,000.00.
