Ford Thunderbird.I
started with a nice west coast car and had the body
acid dipped. The frame was sand blasted and powder
coated. The motor is a balanced & blueprinted
351 windsor fuel injected, roller cam, alum heads,
roller rockers, stroked to 392.. An AOD transmission
wasadded with a 2200 converter. The rear end housing
was powder coated and a 370 Posi gear was added. Next
came a 90 Chevy Corsica power rack and pinion. To
finish the frame assembly Baer 13" brakes front
and rear were added. To make them power brakes a Hydro
boost system out of a Cobra Mustang was added. On
top of that 17" American racing wheels with BFG
G-Force sport 225/45ZR-17 front, 275/40ZR-17 rear.
The best way to describe the body is smooth. The rear
wheel opening was re-worked to match the front. The
dash was also re-worked to go with the smooth look.
The gas filler was relocated to the trunk along with
the battery. Kip Kuiper did the all leather interior
and all new cloth soft top. Hamilton Restorations
did the body modifications and the paint. Pin striping
by Tony Perez. I used the following items to finish
the car. Rock Valley
Aluminum gas tank with fuel pump.
Ron Davis Racing Aluminum radiator with 16" fan
and shroud, plus expansion tank.
Auto Meter Gauges
Lokar shifter with boot indicator.
Vintage Air compac heater.
Ididit Chrome tilt column.
Lacarra mark 10 steering wheel.
