Vehicle Description: A 1957 Corvette which looks like it just came from the dealer's floor. When I gave the car to Corvette Restoration AZ, I told the owner, Kim Madsen, I wanted a "driver" that looked like the car I saw when I walked into a showroom in June 1957. Although not a "frame off", it was reduced to just frame and stripped body and put back together. The body of the car is without ripples-it would lose points in a show. An original color, cascade green, paint is in pristine condition. Paired with shoreline beige cove and interior, and the perfect chrome and stainless work, you just can't get a better looking combo. A beige convertible top is in place and raises/lowers with ease. A tonneau cover is used while parked in a summer sun. The car has original style wheels/hubcaps which look perfect framed in the wide white walls. The tires are Coker Classic 205/75 R15 - 2 ? Whitewalls. I went with radials for safety but still kept the appearance. With a VIN of 4747, the car was built in June 1957. The odometer reads an actual 32,220 miles. All knobs and dials on the instrument panel were refurbished to like-new condition. The clock works but is not connected. The Wonder Bar radio was completely dismantled and returned to new condition. Courtesy lights work. The carpet and seats are period correct as are the installed seatbelts. The engine compartment is period correct. The engine is a rebuilt 283ci V8 which produces 240 hp and is coupled with dual Carter WCFB carburetors and a 4-speed manual transmission. The value covers are 9-fin. Because the car's purpose is to be a "driver" and not a "show car", the engine was rebuilt with a Clay Smith Hydraulic Roller camshaft for durability and smoother performance. The radiator is oversized to insure a cool engine under all condition. The trunk and accessories are period correct and contain the spare tire, jack, lug wrench, and jack handle. The original hard top is available and was painted at the same time as the body in cascade green. It was dismantled but not restored. The top, frame and chrome pieces are the only available parts of the hard top. Corvette Restoration AZ closed shortly after Kim Madsen died in 2011. I was fortunate in that Steven Neel, who had previously worked on the car and who had established Concours Corvette Restorations offered to complete the car. He finished the work in December 2011. Steven, who is also a Master Judge, insured that the car met my expectations. Earlier this year, a certified appraiser wrote, "This is one of the nicest early model Corvettes I've seen. It looks like it rolled off of the show room floor." In closing Corvette Restoration AZ, I was fortunate to obtain all the paperwork concerning the car - purchase receipts, man hour records, and restoration remarks. I also have a multitude of pictures taken from the time it was picked up at my house till receipt of the finished car. This is an extremely beautifully done car that is in amazing condition from front to rear. I keep this car, covered, in a plastic "bubble" (CarCapsule) with ventilation and a battery tender. I also have documentation and photos on the history of this incredible vehicle. It isn't every day you find this level of car up for sale so come check it out while you still can!. Offered for $120,000.00.
