1952 Chevrolet Pickup Truck. 1952 Chevrolet Pick Up. 4 speed, 5 Windows, six cylinder. Here are some details:

The truck is original and has remained in New Mexico and Arizona since 1952. It's never been restored and, unless the owner is reckless in his or her caring for it, doesn't need to be for several years.

I bought it for my son and I to play around with without having to commit to a full restoration. It's solid, runs straight and has no need for replacement parts such as frame, fenders, cab, bed, etc. This alone saves a lot of time and money in restoration costs and other rebuilding notions. While the major things don't need attention, it could use a new speedometer cable, windshield wipers, radio and horn (The horn works but the six volt system does not produce a fog horn effect. It sounds more like a small sheep caught underneath a heavy steel plate.)

Its condition is a rare find because it's not "hopped up" or restored for hot roding. Nor is it sitting in a field in Iowa consumed with rust. It's a clean, straight truck ready for someone to drive it to DQ and tinker around with it as a hobby. If someone wants to rebuild or restore it s/he can, but; doesn't have to for many years.

I've found very little, if any, similar trucks in this condition. They either had corn growing through the cab ($1,000 - $3,500), were completely restored to original condition ($20,000 or more) or were tricked out beyond its original condition ($20,000 and fast).

I prefer to sell it to someone who values the original notion and "state of "affairs" for owning a classic. State of affairs is what I call the duties of the '52 (this may be applied to any classics of this era). The affairs include, but are not limited to, starting it (5 steps), double clutching, no air conditioning, no power steering, a heater, six volts, air/oil filter, and so on. The state of affairs is more work than people realize. It's a truck in the most basic definition of the cliche', "It drives like a truck". It also takes more time to drive from point "A" to "B". You'll attract people interested in talking to you about the truck - getting home and back takes longer. It simply takes more effort and time when driving a vehicle of this vintage. Owning a classic is not for sissies.

My son and I have enjoyed many drives to DQ and back with this truck. We're selling it because we're interested in pursuing ATVs. Truth is, we're ready to hit the dirt and work off some of the DQ we've enjoyed for too long. Offered for $7.900.00. ~This Vehicle Is No Longer For Sale On This Site~
